4 Ways to Travel Stress-Free
The warmer weather gives me major travel fever....Since I have a wedding to pay for this summer, my usual trip to Europe will need to be put on the back-burner....but instead we get to plan our honeymoon! Not too bad either :)
With booking a vacation on my mind, I have been motivated to share some of my favorite travel tips that make staying healthy and relaxed while preparing for travel and being away from home less stressful!
1. Pack Like A Pro
I used to over-pack for every trip; sometimes even had to pay extra for overweight baggage! Just to come back home, realizing I didn't even wear half of the clothing that I had brought on the trip. So I started planning ahead...I now lay out the outfits that I intend to wear on each day while away. I try to visualize how I can mix and match items to bring as little as possible.
Another great tip for effective packing is to roll the clothes! It doesn't seem that more would fit in the suitcase this way, but try it out! It also keeps the clothes from getting too wrinkly - nice bonus!

2. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Drinking water and staying hydrated is important on any day, but especially while traveling by plane! The dry air on the plane used to really do some damage to my skin, so I started making sure that I drink more than usual starting with the night before my trip...that means NO ALCOHOL! I know...boring, but it makes a big difference! I also bring my own water bottle that I finish before going through security and then fill back up at one of the bars or restaurants in the terminal. That also saves me the close to $10 they charge for bottled water at the airport. Add some lemon and mint to your bottle and you got yourself a refreshing drink for the duration of your transit.

3. Keep Up with Your Exercise Routine
I noticed that when I skip my yoga practice and workout regiment, I start feeling very sluggish. Vacation for me definitely means to relax and to get away from day-to-day life, but that also means that I like to keep up with feeling healthy.
Before leaving on a trip, I like to research yoga and fitness studios in the area close to where I will be staying. Most studios have "new student" specials or even free classes they offer as introductory courses. When I stay in more remote locations, I take advantage of the lovely outdoors and bring my mat to practice in nature.
4. Stay Connected
Let's be real...most of us feel a bit lost without our phones...staying connected to the internet has become a necessity these day. So to avoid feeling completely disconnected when traveling out of the country and not having access to your phone's data plan, make yourself familiar with your options. Most wireless companies offer temporary international plans that might suit your needs if you won't be gone too long - they can become pricey.
To avoid hefty roaming charges, turn your cell phone to Airplane Mode and connect to WIFI whenever you get to your hotel and local establishments.
