Budget Friendly Wedding Tips
I can't believe it's been two months since our wedding! Time flew by. Now it is almost time for our honeymoon!
Over the last few months a lot of people have been asking how we were able to pull off a budget friendly wedding in just 6 months. So, I wanted to share three money-saving-tips that I am so glad we followed! We knew from the beginning that we wouldn't be able to afford anything too extravagant and wanted to keep it as intimate as possible - and true to who we are.
1. FLOWERS
Right after we got engaged I started looking into flower options because I knew we wouldn't want huge centerpieces and didn't need bridesmaids bouquets either. I received the advice to look into on-line whole sale vendors and ended up choosing Global Rose and Costco!
For under $120, my mother was able to make my bridal bouquet and small centerpieces for 12 tables,. We even had greenery and roses left over!
2. SAVE THE DATES & INVITATIONS
With only 6 months of planning, I knew I had to get the Save the Dates out as soon as possible. Instead of sending them via the mail, I opted for an on-line delivery service. GreenVelope designs really pretty cards that are sent via email. They have different packages at different prices, but just for example: to send cards to 40 recipients, cost us under $20! Great for the environment and your pocket.
For invitations and RSVPs, I went with Vistaprint. Although they specialize in office and business related printing, they also offer anything you may need for wedding planning - tons of really pretty designs and quick delivery.
For under $100 we were able to order the following:
50 invitations with envelopes
50 RSVP cards with envelopes
140 return address stickers
3. FAVORS
We went back and forth on what to offer as favors. While I first wanted to donate a monetary value to our local animal shelter in lieu of favors for the guests, we ended up going with personalized wine bottles instead. We wanted to show our gratitude to our friends and family for spending their time and money on our love, so what is better than alcohol, right?!
A friend of mine was able to sell us full sized wine bottles at cost, which allowed us to gift 1 bottle per invited couple or guest and still kept us under $150 total for our favors.
After soaking the bottles and removing the labels from each bottle (yes - a bit time consuming), we used personalized stickers from Amazon and little "Thank You" tags to make the favors look pretty!
If you are planning a wedding, keep in mind that at the end of the day it is about your love and commitment to one another. Don't stress out (I know that's almost unavoidable) and delegate tasks to the people who offer to help!
Let me know if you have questions!
Love,
Lena
